Allie Taschuk

The National Rifle Association has selected to receive Allie J. Taschuk of Andover, MN its 2013 Outstanding Achievement Youth Award. Allie will receive a plaque along with a $5,000 check during the NRA Board meetings in September.

Allie TaschukAllie is a sophomore in college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas where she is part of the women’s Rifle team, a division I rifle team. At fourteen Allie joined a junior rifle team and began competing, she has competed in matches all the way to Junior Olympics and the Olympic trials. After all the work she puts in with school and the countless hours of practice required to be able to compete at a national level Allie still finds time to volunteer and help people in her community.

To quote Allie, “I believe community service should be done without an expectation for acknowledgment and praise, instead solely based on the desire to give of one’s self for the benefit of others. There are many things throughout the community that I prefer to do anonymously and without recognition as I believe that is the best way to give selflessly.”
